Something to watch as need to appreciate this. Hopefully get a clear night to view. Areas of town beach get very busy with people lined up to view so go early. Full review by Lizzieas

Hi traveller We took small beach chairs and our own nibbles, water etc but bought wine from the hotel. We arrived well before the sunset, maybe an hour and a half before so that we could get a good position but as soon as the moon began to rise, people went to the barrier and took up positions. There was plenty of room to get a great view. Taking photos with a mobile phone, wasn’t very successful, so just enjoy looking at the spectacle! Have a great time.

Hi 17katy It’s only on 2 to 3 nights per month. If you go to the Visit Broome webpage or just google the dates it gives you the exact dates and times it will be on. Enjoy. It’s fabulous

No, the staircase is visible 19-21 August - these three dates coincide with the full moon rising over the mudflats at low tide. On later or early dates, the moonrise does not appear to coincide with the lowest low tides and on the dates you will be there, the moon is waning. For interest, the best spot is the other side of the peninsula (it is not visible from Cable Beach) either near Town Beach or from the Mangrove Hotel.
