While the Houston Rockets have done a good job of not tipping their hand about what they might want to do this offseason, it seems clear that the biggest domino waiting to fall this summer has its eyes at least partly on Houston.
Andrew Wiggins is among the most likely candidates the Heat would send out to get Durant. As it turns out, Wiggins was named a potential trade candidate for the Lakers. On Saturday, Jovan Buha of The Athletic said Wiggins is a player the Lakers could realistically acquire.
While the Knicks could offer the Suns a center like Mitchell Robinson or Karl-Anthony Towns, Phoenix likely wants draft capital in a return for Durant. New York is a little strapped for draft picks after acquiring forward Mikal Bridges last offseason.
Phoenix traded away Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four unprotected first-round draft picks (2023, 2025, 2027, and 2029) and a 2028 first-round pick swap to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Durant and T.J. Warren in Feb. 2023.
