Cherry Creek thumped Grandview 7-1 in the Class 5A state tournament semifinal on Saturday. It advanced the defending champion to next weekend’s title game.

With the win, TCU advances to the Big 12 title game for the second time in three years. This time, it will be a matchup with the four-seed Arizona. The Wildcats defeated BYU 4-1 in the quarterfinal and demolished top-seeded West Virginia 12-1 in the semifinal.

Creighton defeated UConn, 5-2, to win the Big East’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies will have to sweat out selection Monday.
