Mercedes-Benz is showing off its all-electric CLA prototype and sharing a few new details planned for the upcoming 2025 production version. The CEO of Mercedes-Benz Group, Ola Källenius, provides a limited tour of the car, in which he talks to its new AI assistant, and takes it for a spin in a new video posted by the automaker.

Debuting in 2025, the CLA will be offered as either an EV, or with a hybridised combustion engine reportedly co-developed with Renault and Geely.

The production model will offer both single- and dual-motor configurations. The production CLA EV, which utilizes the brand's new MMA (Mercedes Modular Architecture), also will offer two different lithium-ion batteries, each with a different chemistry, and an 800-volt architecture. Range for the top version could reach 400 miles.
