Miami Heat center Kevin Love "has made it clear" he plans to return for the 2025-26 NBA season, according to the Associated Press' Tim Reynolds. The Heat's first-round elimination by the Cleveland Cavaliers marked the end of Love's 17th NBA season and third with Miami.

Miami Heat forward Kevin Love announced on Instagram that his father Stan, a former player for the Los Angeles Lakers, had sadly passed away. Love missed the final portion of the season as well as the Heat’s playoff loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers to be with his family.
