California wildfires live updates: 10 killed in Los Angeles County as Palisades, Kenneth and Eaton fires continue to spread
A new fire — the Kenneth Fire — erupted Thursday afternoon, so far spreading across 960 acres in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says that blaze is 0% contained.
Update: Containment progress – Palisades Fire in Los Angeles County at 6%
Palisades Fire initially started 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. It has burned 19,978 acres after being active for two days. A crew of 3,073 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 6% of the fire by Thursday evening. The blaze's cause remains under investigation.
Palisades and Eaton Fires in Los Angeles remain 0% contained. The blazes could become California's most costly ever.
