A young woman who says she was raped by retired NFL player Shannon Sharpe has filed a civil lawsuit against him seeking $50 million in damages.

Pro Football Hall of Famer and media personality Shannon Sharpe has been accused of sexual assault, battery and causing emotional distress.

"The evidence paints a clear picture: this was a consensual, adult relationship that included role-playing, sexual language, and fantasy scenarios" initiated by the plaintiff, Sharpe's lawyer said.
