Those bullpen games have been quite a relief for the Texas Rangers. With Nathan Eovaldi still on the injured list and Tyler Mahle dealing with shoulder stiffness, the Rangers twice in the past week have gone with bullpen games.

ARLINGTON - As the Rangers scramble to backfill some pitching needs, they will do so without one of their previous options.

Texas placed Mahle, 30, on the injured list with shoulder with shoulder fatigue. The right-hander is in the midst of the best season of his career as he holds a 2.34 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 77 innings 14 starts.
