Tyler Morrison became West Perry's first PIAA wrestling champion. He credits older brother Brad, a former state finalist, with getting him there.

Fifty-nine years after his grandfather won Cumberland Valley's first state wrestling title, Ty Morrison brought PIAA gold to West Perry, headlining a group of eight Sentinel-area medalists in Class 3A.

That trio survived the bloodbath that was the first day of the championships at Hershey’s Giant Center. Fifteen Lancaster-Lebanon League wrestlers were ousted from the championship bracket Thursday. Ten remain in contention for a top-eight finish.
