Vanderbilt baseball won its second SEC tournament title in three years with a 3-2 victory over Ole Miss at the Hoover Met on May 25. No. 4 seed Vanderbilt (42-16) took an early lead in the first inning on a two-run Brodie Johnston home run and added on another run in the fifth on a solo home run by Jacob Humphrey.

Vanderbilt was riding high from a blowout 10-0 victory over rival No. 8 Tennessee in the semifinals after the Volunteers eliminated top-seeded Texas in the quarterfinals. Ole Miss had plenty of momentum as well, though, as it defeated second-seeded Arkansas in the quarterfinals and third-seeded LSU in the semifinals.
