Winston-Salem police are asking for the public’s help to find Kim Tyler Whitehurst, 69, who was last seen at 2945 Reynolda Road, the center said. Whitehurst is believed to be suffering from a cognitive impairment, the center said. Whitehurst is traveling on foot, police said.

City officials said the outage is limiting the public's ability to conduct business transactions, including payments.

A man is critically injured after being shot by police in Winston-Salem. On Saturday around 11 p.m., police were called to a home on Zacharys Keep Court. The caller said that a man inside the home was armed with a knife and threatening other people.

Authorities say a man entered Mata Groceries on Old Rural Hall Road, just after 7 p.m. Monday, with a gun and demanded money from store employees. Investigators say the workers and the suspect all fled the store.
