José Ramírez tripled and scored in a two-run first inning and Slade Cecconi gave up a run and five hits over six innings as the Cleveland Guardians beat the Detroit Tigers 3-1.

Steven Kwan opened the game with a double to right off a 97 mph heater. Jose Ramirez, one out later, delivered Kwan with a triple off the wall in right center on a 96 mph fastball. Carlos Santana, with two out, scored Ramirez with a broken-bat single to the hole at short on another 97 mph heater.

Slade Cecconi pitched six strong innings and the Cleveland Guardians topped the host Detroit Tigers 3-1 on Friday night.
