Two Powerball players in Texas won $50,000 each, just missing the $65 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The tickets matched four winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Wednesday, June 11, the Texas Lottery said.
More than 240,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $200,000, the lottery said. The Powerball jackpot was last won May 31, when a California player hit the $204.5 million grand prize.
A Powerball jackpot-winning ticket worth a whopping $207 million was sold at a 7-Eleven store in Arleta, according to lottery officials. The ticket, which matched all five numbers and the Powerball — 1, 29, 37, 56, 68 and 13 — was purchased by a lucky winner at the convenience store located at 8960 Woodman Avenue.
The ticket was sold at Peacock Liquor in Port St. Lucie, according to the Florida Lottery. The player added the Power Play which took the win from $1 million to $2 million. One other player in New Hampshire also hit for $2 million using the Power Play, and a player in California hit the $204.5 million jackpot.
