Coco Gauff overcame second-ranked Iga Swiatek 6-4, 6-4 in the opening singles of the United Cup mixed teams tennis event and the United States went on to win the final by beating Poland 2-0.

Coco Gauff led the United States to its second United Cup title with a statement 6-4, 6-4 win over world No. 2 Iga Świątek a week before the start of the Australian Open.

"I couldn’t get my serve in the court my first serve suffered because I was hitting myself because I was trying to get my first serve in the court because I didn’t want to hit a second serve,” said a dejected Coco Gauff last season after losing against World No.
