There isn't an official release date for 'Landman' Season 2 yet, but it’s likely to come out sometime sooner than we can expect

The main character Tommy Norris - played by Billy Bob Thornton - was the 'landman' - essentially Monty's right-hand man. Monty's health was failing towards the end of the season, as it was revealed he had five heart attacks and underwent his third bypass surgery.

“Landman” is co-created and executive produced by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, who wrote and hosted the Texas Monthly’s podcast “Boomtown,” which the series is based on. The series premiered on Paramount+ in November 2024 and wrapped its 10-episode run on Jan. 12.

Although Monty's fate was left on a bit of an open-ended note, Hamm himself and series co-creator Christian Wallace have confirmed that the character is indeed dead.

Fans were uncertain about Monty Miller’s fate after the finale of Landman. Played by Jon Hamm, Monty was one of the major characters in the show and therefore, even after the finale showed him on his deathbed, due to the lack of a clear confirmation regarding his living status, much speculation was going on about whether he survived or passed away.
