As the 2024 college football season comes to a close, many players are declaring for the NFL draft or announcing that they are entering the transfer portal. Washington Huskies linebacker Drew Fowler took to social media to post a much more relatable announcement—he's declaring for the "job market."

Walters served as defensive coordinator under new Purdue coach Barry Odom at Missouri. He held the same position at Illinois, and his success there made him a rising head coaching candidate. Walters also called the defense at Purdue for parts of both seasons as a head coach, with less-than-stellar results.

Former Purdue football coach Ryan Walters was hired as defensive coordinator for the Washington Huskies on Friday. Coach Jedd Fisch announced the hiring of Walters, who compiled a 5-19 record in two seasons with the Boilermakers and was fired at the conclusion of the season.
