The Philadelphia Phillies were linked to New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso, allowing Bryce Harper to move back to the outfield.

But Destiny Lugardo of Phillies Nation observed that Kemp was taking reps at first base with infield coach Bobby Dickerson ahead of the team's Tuesday game with the Cubs. Those reps could hint at plans the team has to move Kemp to first in Harper's absence, a position he's played in a dozen Triple-A games this season.

Whether the new wrist injury is also related to the hit-by-pitch is unclear. Phillies manager Rob Thomsen said on Saturday that Harper has been coping with soreness in the wrist for “a while,” as quoted by an MLB.com report.
