Student and staff data stored in a web-based software program known as PowerSchool has been breached, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools said in a statement Wednesday.

A data breach may have exposed personal information of students and staff at school districts across the county, including some in the Philadelphia region.

Region 1 School District reported that student and staff data had been impacted, while other districts said they were notified but had not been directly affected.
