The cost of running the MBTA has climbed dramatically since the phase out of the agency’s Fiscal and Management Control Board, according to a new study by the Pioneer Institute.

A communication wire issue led to the evacuation of about 465 passengers from a Blue Line MBTA train in Boston.

A person died after they were struck by an MBTA Blue Line train, with shuttles provided to passengers at the station.

Shuttle buses will replace train service on the MBTA’s Red Line between Kendall/MIT and JFK/UMass Station beginning Thursday evening, officials said. Train service will be suspended between those stops from 8:30 p.m. on Thursday through the end of service on Sunday for regularly scheduled maintenance work, officials said.

Service on one of the MBTA’s commuter rail lines was disrupted on Tuesday afternoon after a car crashed into a train, officials said. The driver of a Tesla drove around closed crossing gates and struck a commuter rail train in Hingham, a Keolis spokesperson told Boston 25 News.
