An elderly man from the town of Cicero has gotten sick from a mosquito carrying West Nile Virus, and mosquitoes carrying the potentially deadly Eastern Equine Encephalitis have also been detected.

The Lake County Health Department reported the first human case of West Nile virus in Lake County for the year. The infected resident is in their 70s and became sick in early July, health officials confirmed in a written release.
