Battery maker Duracell's longstanding research-and-development hub in Bethel will be replaced by a new R&D hub in Atlanta.

Duracell, one of the world’s leading battery manufacturers, has announced plans to establish its new Global Headquarters for Research and Development at Science Square in Atlanta.

The company confirmed to FOX61 that it would be leaving its Bethel, Conn. location and plans to open its Atlanta headquarters in summer 2026.

Duracell officials said the move will bring more than 100 jobs to Atlanta, but didn't say whether that included workers coming from Bethel.

Duracell announced it will be moving its Connecticut headquarters, located in Bethel, to Atlanta, Georgia, in the next year. The headquarters in Atlanta will be located near Georgia Tech University.
