Tesla on Friday announced updates to both its Model S sedan and Model X SUV. The company explained the changes on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) and nowhere else. Both models saw an immediate $5,000 price increase for all trim levels.

Shoppers can now expect an improved ride, updated technology and some stylistic revisions from Tesla's oldest models.

Tesla recently updated the Model Y and Model 3, leaving the S and X slightly behind the curve. That just changed, as the automaker announced updates to the two more expensive vehicles, and prices are climbing as a result.
