Before President-elect Donald Trump’s latest remarks, King Frederik X signaled his commitment to the territory in a decidedly old-fashioned way.

The art of making this deal just got a bit harder. King Frederik of Denmark has changed the royal coat of arms to emphasize a symbol of Greenland, in a perceived rebuke to Donald Trump who has said he wants to buy the Danish-owned territory.

The crowns were replaced with prominent symbols of Greenland and the Faroes: a polar bear and a ram.
