Scottish actor Rory McCann, best known for playing the burly brute The Hound on HBO’s Game of Thrones, will replace late actor Ray Stevenson for a second season of Star Wars show Ahsoka, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Game of Thrones star Rory McCann will replace the late Ray Stevenson in Ahsoka season 2, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ahsoka fans have applauded the “great” casting choice to replace the late Ray Stevenson in season two. Stevenson played fan-favourite character jedi Baylan Skoll in the Disney Plus series before he died in May 2023, three months before the series premiered.

McCann is best known to viewers around the world for his intimidating turn as The Hound in Game of Thrones, but has other notable credits in Hot Fuzz, Jumanji: The Next Level and Gladiator II as well as recent Sonic the Hedgehog spin-off Knuckles.

It says something about the power of a performance that in a series featuring Ahsoka Tano, the return of Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker, and the live-action debut of Grand Admiral Thrawn, Ray Stevenson's imperious turn as Force-sensitive mercenary Baylan Skoll proved the highlight of Ahsoka Season 1.
