The New York Jets are making bold moves to reverse their fortunes after enduring one of the toughest stretches in franchise history. The team’s hopes of becoming Super Bowl contenders under Aaron Rodgers were dashed when the star quarterback suffered an Achilles rupture on his very first series of the season.

Rex Ryan has returned to the New York Jets for an interview. The former Jets coach and current ESPN analyst, who led the franchise to its last playoff appearance in the 2010 season, met with the team Tuesday about its head coaching vacancy.

When Rex Ryan was head coach of the Jets, the team reached the AFC Title game in each of the first two years. After that, though, New York struggled. Ryan finished 46-50 in six seasons with the franchise.
