Sep 19, 2020 · Superman is also a great disguise for Clark Kent. The thing about Clark Kent is that despite not wearing a mask he's has two disguises. As IIRC put in Lois and Clark, Clark Kent is who he is, Superman is what he can do. Even if he didn't have the powers he'd still be doing whatever he could.
So what exactly does Pa Kent want Clark to do in Man of Steel?

Pa Kent is unsure if Clark is ready to face that side of society and that burden were he to reveal himself, he would prefer Clark just remain his son. But he also knows Clark is destined for greater things.

Sep 11, 2018 · I think there’s 2 Clark Kent’s. There’s the nerdy Clark Kent that he wears as an adult and works as a reporter then there’s the normal Clark Kent. Who he is from a child then there’s Superman. Superman returns showed this. Around his mom he’s normal Clark Kent, then he puts on the other Clark disguise for the daily bugle.

Jor El thinks people should be born naturally I guess but that has zero relevance to the moral code of how Superman conducts himself on Earth.

Mar 11, 2023 · I just want to say that the idea of a conflicted Pa Kent worried about his son helping others and turning the whole world against Clark is a good concept.But the movie doesn't execute that properly and Pa Kent's death is hilarious it's like the movie goes such a long way to be different from 1978's Johnattan and it ends up being worse and convoluted.But that's kind of a thing with Snyder.

Dec 19, 2024 · I'd forgotten how utterly uninterested Man of Steel was in Clark Kent. Just purely perfunctory. She reminds me a lot of the Lois in Superman The Animated Series, one of the best adaptations of Superman to date. The long straight black hair and no-nonsense sort of vibe.

Which is why Snyder was comfortable killing him the way he did, because, not being a real person, there's no issues with disposing of him once his narrative utility has been exhausted.

Jun 14, 2022 · Superman 78 did this perfectly showing for all his powers, Clark can’t do everything. And it seems many modern day takes have it happen (which Man of Steel did…. Stupidly) But I don’t think Pa Kent always has to die. I grew up with the 90s animated series which depicted Pa Kent as alive and well.
