I’m often asked to plaster over Artex and I try to explain to everybody that there’s ALWAYS a risk when doing so. The reply on some occasions has been “but another plasterer told me it can be done absolutely fine”. The correct course of action is to overboard where possible with plasterboard but this isn’t always possible so where absolutely necessary, the correct primers and materials need to be used to lower the risk as much as possible.
